APE were formed in 2009 as a free-jazz trio and quickly grew into the sprawling collective monster it is today. Mike Walter (saxophone, percussion), Graham Mackeachan (double bass, objects), Paul Shearsmith (also a member of Echo City, pocket trumpet, home made instruments) and the grandee of the spoken word scene, Grassy Noel (texts, voice), Keisuke Matsui (guitar, amplified objects) and Luiz Bruno (electronics and synthesizer)
