Max Eastley is a sound and visual artist. His primary instrument is a unique electro-acoustic monochord, developed from an aeolian sculpture. ‘The Arc’ consists of a single string stretched lengthwise across a long piece of wood which can be played with a bow, fingers or short glass rods. His legendary 1975 album with David Toop, ‘New and Rediscovered Musical Instruments’ was produced by Brian Eno and released on the Obscure label. He has played many solo concerts and also played with numerous other musicians such as Evan Parker, Alex Kolkowski, Rhodri Davies and John Butcher. http://www.maxeastley.co.uk

Richard Sanderson is an experimental and improvising musician based in London, originally from Middlesbrough in he North East of England. His instrument of choice is the melodeon (diatonic button accordion) although he also plays electronics, toys, guitar and organ. He has recorded with the bands Lost Robots, Minnow, Browne/Thompson/Sanderson, The Horse Trio and Ticklish and in duos with Steve Beresford and Mark Spybey. His solo album “Improvisations for Melodeon” was released in 2011, followed by “Precision” in 2012, and “Air Buttons” in 2014. He has lately been experimenting with simple foot-pedals and feedback to expand the sound of the melodeon. He runs the experimental label Linear Obsessional Recordings, very occasionally reactivates his 70s post-punk band Drop, and continues to dance with Blackheath Morris Men. http://richardsanderson.weebly.com/

Steve Beresford is Internationally renowned as a free improviser. He plays with and conducts the London Improvisers Orchestra and has worked with hundreds of improvising musicians, including Derek Bailey, Han Bennink, Lol Coxhill, Evan Parker, Otomo Yoshihide and John Zorn. He also works with visual artists. being a regualr collaborator with Christian Marclay and has recently toured John Cage’s ‘Indeterminacy’ with comedian Stewart Lee and pianist Tania Chen. Awarded a Paul Hamlyn Award for Artists in 2012, Steve’s music and his teachings have inspired the musical community in the UK for over a decade. http://www.efi.group.shef.ac.uk/mberes.html

Douglas Benford, composer and sound artist, has been involved in various audio genres since the late 1980s, performing at institutions in the UK (Bristol’s Arnolfini, London’s Science Museum, Tate Modern, The Roundhouse, ICA and Glasgow’s CCA), festivals worldwide and has had installation work in numerous UK galleries. After numerous electronica releases in his ‘si-cut.db’ guise, in past years he has focused on acoustic improvisation and installations, using field recordings, classical instruments, vocals and children’s toys. His collaborators include Blanca Regina, poet Tamar Yoseloff, Angharad Davies, Lina Lapelyte, Beibei Wang, David W. Stockard, sculptor Rob Olins, as well as – in the past – pop group Saint Etienne, Jem Finer (The Pogues), Momus, Rod Thomas (Bright Light Bright Light), Scanner, Stephan Mathieu and Andrew Weatherall. He is also co-curator with Iris Garrelfs since 1996, of Sprawl audio events in London.
