Hundred Years Gallery is delighted to present Ana Pallares‘ first solo show in London.

Painter and poet, Ana’s work reflects on pain, death and other intangible realities which too often occur with little, or incomprehensible, reason. She strives to find and attach new meanings to these realities hoping to present them in a healthier more manageable way: ultimately aiming to turn destructive feelings into constructive action

Interested in ambiguity as it plays with the surprise effect, she finds great joy painting the deformed and weird faces of her works with rainbow colours. People feel lost while watching them whereas I feel I could not have expressed the tragicomedy of life in a better way‘.

Private view as part of the Whitechapel First Thursdays: 3rd. of November from 6.30. to 9.30

What’s inside the Art World?…

Cold money, hot traumas, real storytellers, real wordsellers, strange idiosyncrasies, sappy artists, happy fathers, proud mothers, rock’n’roll stars, shower singers, avid collectors, impavid viewers, compared creations, transcended conventions, girls of my dreams, critics of my nightmares, old and boring but new and fresh air, stairway to heaven, trampoline to hell, unfastened belts, painters I’ll never reach, people rich in knowledge, people just rich, a witch that nurtures my will to arrive to the top of the hill, fancy meals, high heels, Valium pills, my true love for Art and my endeavour to stop being a rat who cannot even afford a flat in the center of your heart.

Born in 1993 in Barcelona, she was fifteen when she discovered graffiti and continued exploring different artistic practices such as painting, illustration and poetry. She started a Fine Arts degree at the University of Barcelona but soon realised that it was not her way of understanding Art and continued learning on her own.

She has exhibited in Barcelona, Madrid and London: Brick Lane Gallery, Lacey Contemporary, Walton Fine Arts and the Illustrated 2016 Art Fair. She will also be exhibiting a selection of recent works at Ziferblat London in November 2016.

Ana has occasionally worked as an illustrator for some culture magazines and recently been featured on Artjobs.com
