Rita Says & Jerico Orchestra. Saturday 15th of November from 7:30pm

Jerico Orchestra return to Hundred Years Gallery with a program of two new chamber pieces: J.O. 1056, and J.O. 1057 featuring projected visuals by artist Rita Says. Both works explore the relationship between synaesthesia and performance, using visual scores to trigger improvisation, noise and action.

Featuring Adam Bohman : prepared strings & amplified objects, Bettina Schroeder : electric ukelele, Paul Shearsmith : pocket trumpet, trombone, Grahame Painting : cello, Luiz Bruno : guitar, oscillator, Catrinel Doran : melodica, voice, clarinet, Ivor Kallin : viola, Will Miles : flute, Keisuke Matsui : guitar, electronics

” Jerico grew directly from The Foundry, we played our first show there in 2009… the experience of this unique venue and its ethos of free expression continues to inspire the project. We are concerned with visual scores, the different ways in which they can be interpreted and most importantly the denial of the composer’s ego in favour of an open ended collaborative approach to the creation of music.”
