Atsuko Kamura: vocal, a bit of electrics
Formed the first all feminist punk band “Misutama Shobodan” in Japan in 80’s and also formed vocal improvisation duo “Honeymoons” which toured in US and EU. Moved to UK and joined The Frank Chickens. Current project is called Kamura Obscura, which is weaving improvisation into composition. Enjoying to explore any forms of vocal.
Iris Ederer: voice
Austrian born musician Iris Ederer is a versatile singer who is at home in various styles of music from jazz to contemporary composition and free improvisation. She has always been fascinated by the shapes and sounds available either inside or outside of songs, irrespective of idiom.
Carole Finer: cumbus, assorted toys and percussive things
‘My first experience of collective music-making was in Cornelius Cardew’s experimental music classes at Morley College, then the Scratch Orchestra. After that, infrequent Scratch- or Cardew-related performances and a lot of obsessive banjo playing. Lately, irregular attendances at Eddie Prevost’s improvisation workshop and occasional improvising gigs. Improvising is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. No guidelines, no score, making sounds, listening to other sounds, reacting, responding, forgetting to listen, knowing when to stop… oh so very hard’.
Mirei Yazawa: dance
Mirei is an experienced improvising dancer and an artist who explores memory within body and the movement. She has studied fine art, trained Butoh and BodyWeather.
Sue Lynch: tenor saxophone, clarinet.
Sue Lynch currently runs The Horse Music Club at I’Klectik Arts Lab, with Adam Bohman and Hutch Demouilpied. She currently performs with Hogcallin’ (with John Edwards, Steve Noble, Adrian Northover), cult band ‘The Remote Viewers’ and Helen McDonald’s ‘Future Groove’.
