On Saturday July 6th, Performance artist Rita Says presents a film screening of No.16 accompanied by The Jerico Orchestra, followed by a live performance in tandem with M. Gallego exploring the relationship between artist and gallery owner.
Jerico Orchestra was founded by Rita Says in 2009 to collectively explore synaesthesia and the interaction between music, improvisation and visual art. They were a resident band at The Foundry until it’s closure in May 2010, and have subsequently performed at Tate Modern, Royal West of England Academy, Temple Works Leeds, MK Gallery as well as jazz and improvised music venues.

Rita Says‘ work references gender, film, and the history of Body Art. The current show of new work features three site specific pieces, each an attempt to reintegrate drawing into performance practice.
These pieces include No.52 (a variable sculpture constructed from components that can be assembled into different forms), 2 new performances: No.20 and No.18 (both based on Japanese and Italian Horror Cinema), a film screening of No.16, and two live performances of “Against The Day” presented on the eve of July 20th and 27th.
Both performances of “Against the Day” can only be seen from outside of the Gallery during specific time periods (please check the events page for details).
