Tasos Stamou, Richard Sanderson, Adrian Northover. Sunday October 12th from 3:30-6:30pm

Free improvised music afternoon session of organic structures between sound experimentalist Richard Sanderson and the electroacoustic music duo of Adrian Northover / Tasos Stamou, who have recently released the album ‘Mantra Gora’ from Sanderson’s label Linear Obsessional Recordings. The concert will consist of the three musicians interacting with each other in solos, duos & trios of free improvised / psych & drone interpretations.

Tasos Stamou is an electroacoustic music composer, a performer of free improvised music, an electronic instrument maker and a tutor, currently based in London.

His recordings and performances include arrangements with self-modified sound toys (circuit bending) and found objects, electronic music equipment (modular synthesizers & computer applications), acoustic instruments (prepared zither, reeds, whistles, vocals, etc). He has presented live sets in solo projects and in collaborations with other experimentalists and improvisers (London Improvisers Orchestra, Evan Parker’s “Call them Improvisors” orchestra, Adam Bohman, Valerio Tricoli, Kuupuu & Lau Nau, Terry Day, Adachi Tomomi, Ilan Manouach, Ignaz Schick etc.) around venues and festivals for innovative music. Since 2008 he runs “Kukuruku Recordings”, an independent label for ephemeral exploratory sound works. He is currently running workshop series for circuit bending & hacking sound toys for experimental sound production.

Adrian Northover plays soprano, sopranino and alto saxophones. He can currently be heard playing on the London club scene with a wide range of musicians, including the London Improvisers Orchestra, as well as doing solo sax performances. Recent gigs include playing with John Russell’s ‘Qua Qua’ festival, performing to films with Trip-Tik at the Cinema Museum, and various gigs at the Horse Improv Club and others.

 Richard Sanderson is an experimental and improvising musician based in London, originally from Middlesbrough in he North East of England. His instrument of choice is the melodeon (diatonic button accordion) although he also plays electronics, toys, guitar and organ. He has recorded with the bands Lost Robots, Minnow and Ticklish and in duos with Steve Beresford and Mark Spybey. His solo album ‘Improvisations for Melodeon’  was released in 2011. He also plays in the duo Foulkestone with Jude Cowan Montague, The Horse Trio and dances with Blackheath Morris Men. Very occasionally he re-activates his late 70’s post-punk band Drop. He appears on the Linear Obsessional releases ,  ‘Bottles’ and ‘Corks’ (with Clive Pearman), ‘Tone Chambers’ with Skitter, ‘Berlin Toy Bazaar’ with Steve Beresford and Anna Homler, and the solo release ‘Precision’ .
