Terry Day began improvising on the drums in a duet with his brother Pat in 1955, and in 1960 formed an improvising trio of piano, bass & drums. Since the early 1960’s he has been a first generation pioneer of Improvisation, free jazz & experimental music, having collaborated with many improvising musical luminaries, groups, dancers, painters, poets and artists from around the world.

Leafcutter John is a musical project of London-based songwriter, electronic musician and performer John Burton. He started making music around early 2000s, debuting with his Concourse E.E.P. album. John has developed a strong musical identity using processed instrumental and environmental recordings.

Satoko Fukuda was born in Japan 1981. She started the violin at the age of seven and at nine came over to England to study with Catherine Lord. Her first concerto debut was at the age of thirteen for the Anglo-Japanese Society and she has since performed and recorded all over the world. She was awarded the Concordia Serena Nevill prize for 2007. She appears as an improviser on the critically acclaimed CD ‘Unlocked’ (Emanem, 2007) with pianist Veryan Weston and Hannah Marshall and has a classical CD in preparation.

Grahame Painting plays guitar in the Horseless Headmen and  cello and percussion in Jerico Orchestra and over three decades has contributed cello, bass, guitar, drums, percussion, sound effects and vocals to Family Fodder, of which he has twice been a member. He has performed with many leading figures in the London experimental music scene.
