WEISSLICH V: Experimental music & performance art with guests Samuel Stoll and Alice Purton
Berlin-based performer and musician Samuel Stoll joins London-based cellist Alice Purton and WEISSLICH regulars David Pocknee, Michael Baldwin and Louis d’Heudieres for a unique programme of contemporary music and performance. Featuring all new or recent works from Michael Baldwin, Stephen Chase, Stephen Crowe, Georgy Dorokhov, Fabrice Fitch and Louis d’Heudieres.
Since he finished his studies in experimental musictheater in the class of Georges Aperghis at the Hochschule der Kunste Bern, Samuel Stoll is working as a freelance musician and performer. He is playing with different new music ensemble across europe. He is a founding member of ensemble apparat, Ensemblekollektiv Berlin, Jetpack Bellerieve and a member of ensemble linea and ensemble tzara. The performance and installation of Samuel Stoll were also presented at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst Basel, Wilhelm-Hack Museum Ludwigshafen, art museum in Solothurn and Thun.
Alice Purton is a London-based cellist, who is much in demand as a chamber musician, contemporary music performer and improviser. Alongside her work with award-winning new music ensemble Distractfold, Alice is also a member of Trio Atem, a Manchester-based ensemble who have been commissioning works for cello, voice and flute since 2007. Alice also appears regularly with Plus Minus Ensemble, and is the cellist with the Chagall Piano Quartet, who were recent finalists in the St. Martin-in-the-Fields chamber music competition. In 2015 she was invited to perform piano trios with Mark Knoop and Aisha Orazbayeva in the Music We’d Like To Hear series.
